The Brief
With a change in the Senior Management structure, it was quickly identified that the temporary recruitment spend on the “Lakes” projects for Management staff was excessive. Additionally, with some of the projects there was a need to increase the quality of their homes which was for a very discerning client base. An executive decision was made to change the Project Management structure both across the division and within the projects being constructed. The client required a more focussed professional, with more commitment to the company and the staff and its wider supply chain.
Our solution
Following a detailed meeting with the Directors we quickly established the qualities that were needed to make the Construction team efficient, what the company goals and issues were and what type of personalities would suit both the work and clients that purchased properties from them. We mobilised quickly to ensure the projects remained on track whilst ensuring a whole new delivery team was put in place.
We approached this client with a very consultative recruitment service that could quickly free-up the Directors time, whilst also able to ensure the long-term business goals of low staff turnover and high staff engagement were withheld. It was crucial to find Project Managers that would develop alongside the business who could also support Site and Assistant Site Managers in their careers.
We started by understanding the business model, then tackled the unique requirements of the team required. To develop this understanding, our construction recruitment team met with the Senior Management team to undertake a client needs analysis. Which included establishing recruitment budgets and Project milestones and objectives as well as cultural fit and approach.
With our expertise in the Residential build market, we quickly created tailored recruitment solutions that proactively solved the issues with a focus on saving time. We agreed the appropriate strategies to implement would vary from head-hunting passive talent, networking with candidates in our database and finally traditional ‘Attract-Source-Select’ recruitment campaigns. All of these processes were undertaken our own delivery team.
This Recruitment campaign ensured we ‘hit the nail’ on every appointment producing and delivering a shortlist of Project and Site Managers, all of whom were appointed and are in position currently.
